Featured Game:Beneath the Badlands
For my senior project at SCAD, I work as the Lead Designer and Lead Programmer for Beneath the Badlands, a rougelike first person shooter with a steampunk western aesthetic. I was responsible for much of the original design, and in production have lead a team of eight other designers and programmers, as well as coordinating extensively with our larger 60+ person team.

For me, Badlands started as a problem; how to make the best and largest game possible with limited resources, experince, and a short and fixed 6 month development cycle. I found answers in the roguelike format: the ability to build a strong framework where we can slot in and out content based on what we are able to produce, and gaining significant playtime from the difficulty and required repetition of the genre.
In addition to leadership tasks and initial design, I programmed the procedural dungeon generation system, most of the movement on the player character, architecture for weapons, enemies, and abilities, programmed two of our main enemies, and managed our perforce server.
